Not knowing the criteria, other than party affiliation, used to determine the bottom of the barrel I have to take exception to the familial grouping of Meekes as a lowest condenda on the bottom feeder scale. In fact I have a Facebook post from one D Meekes asking for recommendations to office for 2014. Just doesn't square that ambition of this level and bottom barrel-ness would describe the same guy. Somebody needs a mirror.

I wasn't crazy about this bill because I felt it would enrich the insurance companies while resulting in increased premiums for those of us that have been purchasing our own coverage all along. It remains to be seen about the latter but I would bet heavily on the former. Still, if it provides just some element of basic coverage for as many uninsured citizens as touted, it's a sacrifice I can live with. It's certainly better than doing nothing.

Taylor, you are jumping me for the wrong reason. If you had read my entire blog you would have seen that I am saying we are going about this the wrong way. "We should be given the freedom to better ourselves and pursue a better life, put legislation in place that does that and enforce it then we would not need entitlements to those able but not willing to work." I am saying instead of "giving away entitlements", we should be enacting and working on ways to better the livelihood of those individuals you are talking about. Those that desire to work and apply themselves can improve their own lives their way and not how big brother deems necessary. Fair wages. The reduction of the middle class is being caused by the huge increase in management pay and benefits. That money has to come from somewhere and most times it comes out of the pockets of the people you mentioned. The minimum wage system needs revamping. Different levels for different workers. High school students working part time for some spending money should not be in the same level as the full time mom/dad trying to support a family.

To Dan: What gives you the idea that our citizens do not work and earn their wages? There are working poor all around us. Open your eyes and see the cashiers, wait staff, roofers, Barnes & Noble part time employees who would work forty hours if allowed, mall employees, self-employed or contract workers who do not earn enough to pay for health insurance. Start asking every single person that provide a service for you if they have health insurance. What about the kind lady providing care to Grandpa in the nursing home? Unless they are a nurse, chances are they are uninsured. Ask the lady you pay at the dry cleaners who presses your suits? Geez Louise!

2 quick comments. Quote: "such as that guy bloviating against Obamacare last night at a town hall at Saline Memorial Hospital. is the pot calling the kettle black and as long as a representative abides by the constitution/law, then they are elected to represent their constituents and should not be criticized for doing that.

"If the people of Arkansas are not given health care they deserve" That is the problem in this society, what I deserve not what I earn or work for. We should be given the freedom to better ourselves and pursue a better life, put legislation in place that does that and enforce it then we would not need entitlements to those able but not willing to work. Maybe we need to bring back the WPA.
